About Ian

Ian Daniell is a British artist and ocean explorer based on Australia’s west coast.

Ian’s practice, Life-Size Ocean Art, is a celebration of marine life and an ode to encounters in the wild. Iconic marine species painted in emblematic form and bright block colours, at 1:1 scale.

The artworks are also available in the form of limited edition fine art prints. Each print is signed by the artist and annotated with a percentage, noting the print size in relation to the life-size original.

1% of all sales are donated to help protect 30X30: a global effort to protect 30% of world oceans by 2030.

Ian Daniell was born in Sunderland, UK, 1986. The artist lived and worked in London  between 2006 and 2018, graduating from Chelsea College of Arts in 2007 (Foundation Degree in Art & Design) and Camberwell College of Arts (Bachelor of Arts Honours) in 2010.
