KAMILĖ GALLERY is delighted to present SWIM, a new solo exhibition by Ian Daniell.
Known for painting deep ocean megafauna at life-size, this new body of work is a celebration of shallow water wonders; schooling reef fish, endangered rays, sea sponges and coral.
In the eyes of artist Ian Daniell, magic exists just beyond the shoreline. SWIM submerges the viewer in an underwater world full of wonder, beauty and awe. Striking colour combinations, mysterious forms and emblematic compositions present; icons to be cherished, curiosity to be explored and conversations of coastal conservation to be inspired.
British artist and ocean explorer, Ian Daniell, has lived and worked in Margaret River, Western Australia, since 2019. SWIM is the artist’s second solo exhibition with Kamilė Gallery following the success of the first, OCEAN, work from which is held in the permanent collection of WA Museum Boola Bardip. The artist continues to donate 1% of all sales to support 30 ✕ 30: a global effort to protect 30% of world oceans by 2030.
A separate exhibition of the artist’s work will be displayed concurrently with SWIM at Kamilė Gallery, Cathedral Square.
